HP Associated Student Body (ASB) held its election in Early September in 2022 and now there are new officers leading the way.
ASB held an election to select each person to a responsible role such as president and vice president, secretary/Treasurer, speaker of house, and more.
The president represents their class and/or the Student body as a whole, helps with school-wide events, communicates with peers, advisors and administrators, etcetera.
The vice president helps the Student Body president in all the activities and responsibilities, stands in for president if they are absent, oversees all the ASB officer responsibilities and assists with officer evaluations.Secretary creates agenda with ASB president and vice, maintain organized/updated calendar of events, and organize content for social media and websites.
The treasurer works closely with the teacher and financial officer, communicates between clubs and sponsors, and educates clubs about required ASB forms and fundraising.
Speaker of house makes the morning announcements, leads pep rallies and organizes the announcement binder.
ASB makes many activities for the students to have a fun school experience. They plan school events and fun activities for the students to enjoy their school year. Though the Covid 19 pandemic affected many of the schools and the experiences of the students, so ASB is back to make it a fun year.
“Now that many of the Covid restrictions have been lifted we hope to see more student participation at all events. We recommend students follow us on Instagram to stay updated on all upcoming events.” Stated Rosales, the ASB advisor.
The elections were held on a google form during advisory. The students who applied for the role created a campaign to encourage student’s voting.
“The ASB elections were held at the beginning of the school year and the student body had two days to vote in their Advisory. The vacant positions were filled by members of the ASB Leadership class.”
Update: They’re were fallouts with some students leaving ASB.
