ASB Updates for the first half of the Spring Semester

The beginning of the 2024 Spring semester brings new updates from the Associated Student Body class (Leadership) especially for February.

According to the ASB teacher coordinator, Ms. Erika Molina and the Senior Class President and class speaker, Lizeth Perez, there are going to be multiple events during the month of February.

“We are planning a lot for Valentine’s week. We are doing Valentine’s Day Grams, and a marriage booth,” stated Perez. 

There are two Valentine’s Day Gram options: the first being $5 dollars which includes candy, teddy bear key-chain, and a mini heart foil balloon and the second option is $6 dollars which includes candy, chocolate, a special rose, mini plush key-chain, and a mini heart foil balloon.

The grams are being sold from January 22 to February 12 and can be bought during lunch at Stockton Court. The money fundraised from the grams will be split between the senior class of 24’ and the ASB class. 

As for the wedding booth, it will take place at the gazebo on Valentine’s Day which is the 14th of February. Tickets are on presale from February 5th through the 13th and students can see any ASB member for the tickets. The price is $6 dollars for two certificates, two ring pops, and one Polaroid.

“There will also be a sweetheart movie night, which is mainly targeted to seniors for the senior event,” said Perez.

The movie night will take place on February 9th. The location is at the gazebo, from 4:30-6pm. The movie being presented is La La Land.  There will also be no fee to watch the movie. You can also bring a snuggle blanket.

“We are also going to have a friendship and love dinner for the month of February,” said Ms. Molina.

The Class of 2025 presents the “Love+Friendship Dinner” which will be held on February 16th. From 6:00-9:00 pm. There will be two kinds of tickets sold. The solo ticket is 15 dollars and the double ticket is 25 dollars. The location is the Belgrave court and the tickets include food, music, prizes and more. The tickets can also be bought from any ASB member.

“Yes, I’m participating in the ASB marriage booth. I’m excited for it. My friend and I saw the poster on the marriage booth and said we might as well participate, it sounds like fun” stated senior Alyzah Mendez.
