This year Girls Golf has never felt more of a connection within each other better than ever! These girls have created proud friendships along the road of development to become the best. This season for Girls Golf there were 11 games with the record of 4 wins and 6 loses. For this year’s team there are 4 returners and 3 new members. Out of the 7 golfers only one is an underclassmen meanwhile the rest are all seniors.
“ I do feel proud of this season, because me and my teammates got along really well. Although we didn’t win as many games as we liked, it was still fun” – proclaimed Kayla Presiliano.
Here in Hp, golf has become a new sport ever since Oscar Moreno, our Golf Coach decided to teach History here in 2022.
“ Growing up here in HP since I did attend this school, I was not ever thinking it’s something we can do and by we I mean latinos. I saw it definitely as a white sport. Once I got out there and saw more people of color were playing, I realized that that’s something we can do and decided to bring the team to the school.” – declared Oscar Moreno.
Golf is a very challenging sport as well as difficult. The way Golf works is there is a tiny ball that you stroke(hit) with a club to get the ball into the target which is a hole. If you have a lower amount of strokes than your opponent then you win! The way you keep track of your score is each athlete has the responsibility to take care of their very own score. There are only 9 holes you play, so after taking track of golfing those 9 holes you summarize your score as well as your competitors to make sure you both got the same result.
Although our team was only one win from playoffs they still made every effort striving to win.Many of these girls have achieved and pushed hard. Even some of these golfers would say they were able to accomplish their goal.
“ This year I am very proud, because I got to beat my score from last year and I think that was a great accomplishment for me. This year my highest score was 47”. – mentioned Daniela Bravo.
This season compared to last year wasn’t the best so stated Daniela Bravo, Kayla Presiliano, and Coach Oscar Moreno. This reason can be how they lost their seniors from last year but even so our Girls Golf team secured coming back to Hp with wins and attempted doing their greatest.
