Congratulations to our girl’s soccer team for being this year’s Eastern League Champions and the seniors who played a hard season this year! This past weekend, students representatives across the district compete at the LAUSD Academic Decathlon. Our Spartans Scholars prepared with the guidance of Dr.Alamo to deliver their best performance. An amazing event and accomplishment for this team. Courtesy of @telemundo52 HPHS Key Club will be featured on Telemundo today. Check out channel 52 at 530am and again around 6. This week we would like to feature Mr.Lucas and his contribution to HP. He had been teaching at HP for the past year now and has expanded the music department by teaching choir, piano, guitar and mariachi. This weekend the Academic Decathlon team led by advisor Dr.Alamo attended Maces High School for their objective testing. We will continue posting their future meets as their season progresses. Best wishes to the team! This weekend the STEAM Magnet Robotics team competed, at the Franklin High School competition. They hope to continue building their program, improving and participating in future events. Today we shine a spotlight on student Fran Vega. Vega was born and raised in El Salvador for the majority of his life, later moving to Alaska and finally settled in California. He describes his time in California as an amazing place, weather, and diverse community. The Spartan Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathway of Culinary Arts is led by Mr.Ramos. For the past two years the pathway has developed into a great success with a new cooking class and popularized activity among students. There’s been a cooking class serving at different school events and recognition from different groups for their efforts. Wish them all the best.
