Cosby Trials

Bill Cosby was in a popular role in the TV sitcom ‘The Cosby Show’. Later, he was accused for sexual assault by more than 50 women but he denied all claims. He went viral on social media because of his two trials and had a hashtag “#MeToo”, a movement that had promoted sexual harassment and assault. He had faced up to 10 years in prison but he still plead not guilty to all of the charges.

The jury had only focused on two of his trials which was Andrea Constand, she was a message therapist that had claim a case in 2004. She had claimed how Cosby had drugged her with thee pills and made her drowsy then sexually molested her. She reported the attacked a year later but the attorney declined her charges but then she brought a civil lawsuit up against Cosby in 2006. The first trial happened last June when Cosby had to face a jury of seven men and five women.

After the second trial, Nicolle Rochelle, a 39 year old women was protesting topless against Cosby. She protested a peaceful expression of solidarity with the women who had spoken out about Cosby. She said

“I wanted to show him that I wasn’t disempowered, I wanted him to feel my presence.”

She removed her clothes to get attention to her protest. She had a slogan “Women’s Lives Matter” written in black and red ink on her chest as a black women. She wanted to make a point that they shouldn’t forget what he had been accused for.
