There’s been multiple things going on with Jada Pinkett Smith, the wife of Will Smith, the most notable has to be the relationships she’s been in.
Jada is currently married to actor Will Smith but that’s only through documents since the two have made it known that they are in a difficult position in terms of their marriage.
When Jada was nearing her 40th birthday in 2011, her mental health started to deteriorate.
“You start to think that everybody’s better without you,” Jada states in an interview. This mentality of hers caused her to slowly distance herself from others and later in 2016 she and Will began to live separately to figure out how to make themselves happy.
While they were living separately, Jada got into “entanglement” with her sons’ friend. Jada, at 43 years old, began a relationship with the 22-year-old rapper August Alsina because she “wanted to feel good,” which is something she hadn’t felt in a long time. Before the two start the relationship, Jada states that Will gave her “his blessing” to do what she wanted. Then later in the same interview, Jada states that Will didn’t actually give her any “permission” and she pursued the relationship on her own.
Not only did Jada contradict herself but she also made her relationship status confusing with it being unclear on where she stood in terms of her marriage. This was seen with how she switched her story from “Oh he gave me permission to date someone else” to “he didn’t, I pursued the relationship because I wanted to.” Well, which of the two was it? Jada, still married to Will, and asking for permission to begin a relationship with another person seems like the only correct thing to do, not telling Will at all just seems toxic.
After being together for about 4 years, Jada and Alisna broke up with Jada claiming she needed to confront her own “emotional immaturity” and “deep healing.” She left the relationship with Alisna as it was no longer helping with her supposed healing journey.
One thing to be noted from her relationships with Alsina and Will is that once she gets what she wants and has fun, she decides to leave and go back to Will Smith. Even before Jada started her relationship with Alisna, Will stated that he had gotten sick of their on-and-off relationship “I retire from trying to make you happy. You are free,” leaving Jada to do what she wanted in her new relationship.
Will Smith himself has said he isn’t sure if the two can get to the point where they can be together again without questioning each other of the past. Ultimately, the two are married and have no intentions of divorcing. Whether Jada enters another relationship or if she and Will live happily together now has not been put into the public.
