The U.S. is having their 2024 presidential elections and the top three candidates are former President Donald Trump, former governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley, and current President, Joe Biden. As Joe Biden’s term comes to an end, U.S. residents prepare to vote for their new president.
Republican candidate Nikki Haley stands against Donald Trump and has said,
“I think he is mentally fit, but I think he’s declining”.
After a reporter from CBS News asked her if she considers Trump mentally fit. Nikki continued by explaining how it is time to move on with a new generation of people.
She compared Biden two years ago and stated he has declined which is what she believes will eventually happen to Trump.
She claims to be looking out for the future of the country, therefore a president that is soon to decline wouldn’t have any positive progress.
As of right now, the competition is between Nikki Haley and Donald Trump on who will be the Republican Nominee for their Party. Donald Trump remains blocked from the GOP ballots in Maine and Colorado. This is because of the many lawsuits that have been filed against him for insurrection on Jan 6, 2021.
After the New Hampshire primary Donald Trump gave an egocentric speech that shamed and discredited Nikki. In an interview with NBC, a reporter asked Nikki how she felt about the constant mocking and discrediting that Trump shamed her with.
In response, Ambassador Nikki Haley said, “When he feels threatened he starts to throw all kinds of things out there”. Some key points from his speech pointed out the dress she was wearing. He called the dress “unfancy” and claimed she shouldn’t be running due to her parents not being naturally born in the United States.
“The poll comes as Trump seeks to derail the former South Carolina governor’s presidential campaign along with his recent victories in Iowa and New Hampshire.
Haley has struggled to gain more support in South Carolina, consistently polling 30 points behind Trump,”
said Kierra Fraizer, a Reporter for Politico, wrote. As of now it is difficult to see how Nikki Haley may come out of this election meanwhile most states are in favor of Trump. While she may not be garnering enough support, she continues to persevere through the race.
