The ongoing construction at HP, which started back in 2019, has caused significant disruptions and frustrations for students and staff alike. Initially, everyone was led to believe that the project would be completed by 2025, offering some sense of hope that the inconveniences would soon come to an end.
However, to the dismay of many, the completion date was recently pushed back to 2027, raising concerns about whether the construction will ever actually be finished, or finished in time for students to actually be able to enjoy the campus.
This continuous delay is not just a minor inconvenience—it’s having a direct impact on students’ daily routines. Many have found it difficult to navigate the campus, as numerous pathways and key areas are blocked off or restricted due to construction zones.
This has slowed students down, often making it harder to get to class on time, which in turn causes added stress during already busy school days.
For students especially seniors who have been at HP throughout the entirety of the construction, it almost feels like the construction has become a permanent feature of their school experience, with no end in sight.
It is unsettling to believe that the completion of the construction could be delayed yet again. The lack of transparency has left many wondering whether the project is being properly managed.
One student expressed their frustration, saying, “I could not enjoy my high school experience with half of the campus missing. I Am unable to fully engage with school activities or even have a normal learning environment.”
For many, the construction delays go beyond mere inconvenience; they impact academic life, social events, and the overall high school experience.

Students are eager for answers and clarity on when they can expect the campus to be fully functional. Some wonder if additional funding or better planning might be the key to finally getting the project back on track.
When is the construction going to finish? To answer the question, a part of the construction being the 50s and 70s is said to be finished at the beginning of next semester.
With previous setbacks the questions on everyone’s mind is: what could prevent it from happening again? Is the delay due to a lack of coordination among the workers, or are there unforeseen complications with the building process? Why is it taking so long?
The sense of frustration continues to build, leaving the community uncertain about the future of their school environment.
