With the autumn leaves setting in, comes with the considered best time in sports, MLB Playoffs. The MLB playoffs are often held throughout October with the final two of 12 teams from the American League (AL) and the National League (NL), face off in a best of 7 game series to determine the winner. The two teams must go through 3 tough rounds of best of 5 game series to reach the championship. With all the hype going into this years post season fans are excited to witness their favorite teams in having a shot at holding that trophy high.
“When I saw the playoff bracket I had a feeling we were going to the Championship,” says Yankee fan Mr. Carcamo.
Every year there are two top teams with the best record for both leagues this year it was The Yankees and The Dodgers. The oldest and spiciest rivalry in baseball history. They were bound to have meet each other eventually, but as some feel the Yankees had it easier than the dodgers on their road to the championship games.
“Me personally, I feel as if the Yankees had it the easiest than anyone else this year in the post season as they faced the easiest teams ever.” stated by LA Dodger fan, Jadon Lopez.
Coming off an amazing year the Dodgers come in as the number 1 in the national league with a record of 98 wins and 64 losses. With their star string new player this season, Shohei Otani many were eager to get to the post season to see what he can do with a winning team after being paid 700 million dollars.
The Yankees breezed through the American league blasting their way to a spot in the world series. As for the Dodgers they had a tough road ahead of them as they faced against the San Diego Padres, the New York Mets, and last but not least the New York Yankees all going over a 4 game series.
As expected the dodgers had a big target on their back as they won in 2020 but many considered it to not count as the season got cut short, but as people saw this year they are no team to be messed around with.
“ As a Yankees fan growing up since the late 90’s i saw the potential of having another great dynasty but the dodgers are a voice to be reckoned with…” statement by Mr.Carcamo
The dodgers went up 3-0 early in the series against the dodgers by a huge impact of Freddie Freeman, many fans were wondering “how do we stop this guy”.
“You cant stop him, for some reason the Yankees didn’t learn after the walk off grand slam to win the first game, he’s the real deal. He had almost a HR in every game at least this post season that says a lot.” stated by student Jadon Lopez.
“Honestly they could’ve played a way better game if they would’ve not pitched the way they did against Freddie and walked him and attacked Shohei we would’ve been fine. We were mentally messy.- Mr. Carcamo
With the world series over and the Dodgers winning it in game 5 ,bringing the trophy back home to LA the land of dreams, fans were excited to go to the parade to celebrate on Friday, November 1st, 2024.
“After so many years and proving the critics wrong what can they say about this one now, we had the hardest schedule the entire time, what can we say LA does it the best.”-Diego Garcia

With high energy and hopes of the fans here at HP, we can say that the dodgers were the fan favorite to win it all, as that concludes the fall baseball feeling anything can happen next year in the playoffs and who will be back to win a world series title to their organization.
