Is AI a secret weapon schools have been looking for? Many schools have raised the concern about the use of AI with their students. Some schools even go as far as banning or blocking it all together.
From my perspective, AI can be a complete game changer for schools. With AI instead of going straight to busy teachers for help they can get personalized help with their work and even get an explanation on how they can achieve their required answer.
For example, if a student is stuck on a math problem they can simply insert it into ChatGPT and ask for steps to achieve their answer. ChatGPT will give them the steps they need and even make it more simple if the student still struggles with it.
Not only is it great for helping students but it can also give inspiration to both students and teachers. We have all had those days where you feel as though your mind just can not think of anything.
If you ever need help with what you should write, draw, paint, or even if you just need ideas for a lesson plan. AI is a great help give you fun ideas that you may have never thought about before.
You may still have concerns about plagiarism with AI and students becoming “ lazy” whilst using it. Of course those are major problems but with implemented rules about how students should use AI it could take learning to a whole new level. For instance when I took a computer science class with Stanford, we were encouraged to use ChatGPT whenever we got stuck on coding.
Obviously there were rules placed on how you must use strictly for questions and not for getting the code itself since there are applications that detect AI. This worked wonders for me and my peers. It made it so much easier than sending an email asking for help or scavenging through the internet to see if maybe there was something I was doing wrong with my code.
AI can be used at any time of the day even outside of school hours; It’s a great help especially when you need to stick to one topic that is hard to get information on. AI can even help you look for sources if needed.
Many students agreed that AI does indeed help them when it comes to school.

For example, “ChatGPT helps me when I get stuck on my homework. It’s a very good tool because it even has a feature where you can take a picture of your work sheets and ask for guidance on what you need to do to finish” said another student Chris Arana.
AI adapts to how you learn so it can explain anything you need in a way that you are sure to understand.
The use of AI can be used to transform education. Helping students with their learning and even giving teachers more time to focus on what matters most. With rules implemented Students would be able to gain inspiration, personalized learning, virtual tutors, and much more.
