The 2026 Super Bowl is coming soon, and many people are trying to find out which team will be competing for the all-time championship. It’s not always about football, it’s also about the experience of watching it. People love the commercials especially when they get Hollywood actors to act in some of them, also the comedic ones that get people to laugh. Although the Super Bowl is primarily about football, one major reason that it is also famous is because of their infamous Halftime Show. Through the years, we’ve had performers like Travis Scott, Coldplay, and Kendrick Lammar. People loved these performances and always spoke highly about them, until now.
This year’s Halftime Show will be performed by the reggaeton icon Bad Bunny. When this was announced, it surprisingly sparked outrage! A huge amount of people brought hate to the musical artist asking why we are bringing a Puerto Rican to an “American” sport. Do they even know that Puerto Rico is technically a US state? Many Maga supporters disagreed with the halftime show performer and spread hate all over social media. There are multiple posts of people making fake scenarios of how the halftime show should really go and it’s all completely racist and negative towards Bad Bunny. For example, Tik Tok user vintagetawni1 made one false scenario of Bad Bunny. She said the Halftime show should be Bad Bunny getting tackled by ICE on stage and have the rock band Creed perform for the “best American” Halftime show.
Although you might think people are joking about having only an American half time show, the idea is getting a spotlight with a company named “Turning Point”. Turning point is the non profit organization that was founded by Charlie Kirk. Charlie Kirk is known to be the debater to highly support ICE and “Pro life”. He was well known to be loved by Trump and wanted to be remembered by his “faith” yet he was remembered to be the debater that sent hatred to all minorities. Turning point disagrees heavily on having a Puerto Rican perform in the halftime show which is why they are gathering “American” (White) musical Artists to perform.
Huge rumors were going around the internet about Creed actually being a part of the petty Halftime show. Just like the Tik Toks were saying, people want Creed. Creed on the other hand would not want anything to do with turning point. Lead vocalist Scott Stapp has always been against how high in power people try to make excuses to separate one another just because they are “different”. In a show they hosted at Palm Dessert, he went on a rant talking about how we can’t let the people – government officials- win against us on convincing to be separate from others. He also believes that people can go somewhere else to look for a better life, just how people move to America to look for better opportunities. Knowing that Creed has its own views and shows how they can be anti ICE, we can make the inference that they will not be performing at the Turning Point half time show.
They freely declined the offer with the halftime show with a turning point, and chose another artist. That artist was soon announced to be “Kid Rock”. Kid Rock is an American artist who thrives to be one of the biggest to show the pride for his country. People on Turning Point’s side would soon say that this is what America needs for their Halftime Show. This soon has backlash for Turningpoint because Kid Rock has a song with the lyrics of having a girl being under age mandatory. Many people pointed out these lyrics online and say that it’s not surprising that Trump supporters like these types of people.
On superbowl day many people have been speculating on who was going to have the best Halftime show. Bad Bunny’s performance was filled with love unity and respect for other countries that are from latín America. He showed a big screen that said “ The One Thing More Powerful Than Hate Is Love” to spread the positive awareness to everyone. Mean while, The turning point USA halftime show was all about América and pride for the country they have built. It was always about the Red White and Blue for them and the show even lasted an hour which surpassed halftime. Even though kid rock did peform. The superbowl was already in action.
